Original era manufacture. Dark blue wool issue quality tunic, with red wool collar and cuffs, with original litzen, and its full complement of silver buttons throughout.Heavy white cotton body lining, with black polished cotton lining in the skirt. The soldiers name tag is stitched in lining, just below the collar and looks to be "Grenadier Jaeger", a very appropriate name for a soldier. The tag is very worn and torn in the center, but the regimental number 100, and company number 7 are very visible. In addition to the ID tag, old costume house markings are also visible, of whose previous ownership, likely kept this old tunic from being thrown away years ago.Saxon pattern, square tipped shoulder straps on each shoulder displaying the Royal Saxon cypher for King Albert (1828-1902). The body of the tunic shows scattered snags and minor repairs, the collar hooks have been replaced, but overall it remains quite presentable with strong color. It has been in our own collection for many years. Size about a 36.
