Original era manufacture. A fine quality, private purchase sword by Eisenhauer, marked Damastahl on the ricasso. The blade measures 33 inches in length, running straight and true, with a quill-back, and sharp point. The width is 1 1/8 inches measured at the hilt.Elaborate gilded decoration on both sides of the ricasso, bearing the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Saxony. At some point in the swords life the blade was lightly cleaned, making the Damascus pattern in the steel rather faint. However upon close inspection you can easily see the design in the steel.Heavy steel basket guard with langets curved quillon, and steel finger loop. The grip is covered in fishskin, bound with two strands of twisted wire. Dent-free steel scabbard with two suspension rings, all displaying a pleasing steel patina finish with no corrosion pitting. The blade to scabbard fit is fine, no rattling or looseness, the blade to guard fit is also tight. From our own collection.
