Original era manufacture. Gilded brass folding guard with the Saxon coat of arms. Undamaged black plastic grip with triple strand binding. 31 inch chrome steel blade with a Royal Cypher on the ricasso. The blade is very clean showing light age and wear overall. Remnants of a red wool felt bumper remain on the guard. Black painted steel scabbard is dent free but looks to have been repainted a long time ago. You don't see Saxon M1889 swords too often, this is a nice honest one.
