Original era manufacture. We have owned several of these instructional handkerchief's during the past 50 years, several German, one French and one Italian example. All seemed to be produced to give the soldier some basic information on the issue rifle of the time, including maintenance and use. This German example has been recently reproduced during the past decade or so, however I feel that this one is of the original era of production. The material is different from the current copies and our purchase source was out of an old-time collection in California.
