Original era manufacture. Based on a pattern adopted in 1864, this example shows a 19 inch polished steel blade with large etched panels on each side. The unit is 1st Kurhess. Field Artillery Regiment Nr.11. There are spots of age darkening on both sides of the blade, nothing serios. Cast brass grip, ribbed on one side, smooth on the other. Brass mounted black leather scabbard with sound stitching. The blade has shrunk a bit over the years and closes to within a 1/4 inch of the guard.
