Original era manufacture. Polished steel with etched and frosted panels on each side of the blade, etched spine as well. Scattered small areas of graying with lots of original polish visible. Beehive makers mark for Samuel Hoppe (1827-1885)on the ricasso. Sound black leather bodied scabbard with brass chape and throat. The scabbard throat is dented near the frog stud.
