Original era manufacture. This is a great little piece of insignia which honors theestablishment of IR von Voigts-Rehtz (3rd Hannoverian) Nr.79 on their centennial as a regiment in 1939. They were one of three battalions from the Kingdom of Hannoverallowed to wear the Gibralter cuff title, earned as a result of their service during the Great Siege of Gibralter 1779-1783. Thiswas awarded by King George III of England and continued to be worn by this regimentuntil 1918. The cloth insignia is nicely embroidered with excellent detail with a tiny Gibralter cuff title across its width. It resides in a silver washed ribbed aluminum frame, with a metal backing plate and pinback reverse. Measures 35x45 mm.
