Original era manufacture. An unusual sword in some respects, as the guard has a silver finish to it rather than the normally seen gilded examples. The chrome finished blade measures 31 inches in length with an early pattern Eickhorn trademark of back-to-back squirrels over the letters CE, on the reverse ricasso. The guard, pommel and back strap are steel, with a silver finish, and on the obverse langet a panoply of crossed swords can be seen. Lionhead pommel, set with red glass eyes. The grip is covered in molded black plastic with triple wire binding, with a few of the binding wires wandering out of proper position. The steel scabbard also sports a chrome finish, showing some typical denting along its length, and with a dusting of light surface corrosion as well. Overall the sword is sound, shows normal age and wear, the guard is a little bit loose but that's about it. Interesting sword.
