Original era manufacture. Elaborate veterans medal honoring the service of a Bavarian soldier in the Lifeguard infantry regiment. Likely for service in the Franco-Prussian War, or even the Bruderkrieg of 1866. The small steel hook on the reverse of the ribbon bar is damaged and no longer holds the cross in place. Sound otherwise, very attractive medal.
