Original era manufacture. This is an interesting piece, honestly didn't know which catagory it would fit in. It has a nickle hilt and scabbard fittings with a black leather body. The hilt is shaped like a Saxon pattern Faschinenmesser, with the number 14 stamped onto the guard. The blade is WKC marked and, in our opinion, is made from a cut-down M1871 bayonet with a sawback edge. Traces of a red felt washer may be seen at the base of the blade. We really do not know exactly what this is but it may be an attempt to recycle left over parts for commercial endeavors. Never seen one before.
