Original era manufacture. Gold wire embroidery on a black silk cap ribbon. The SMS Elsass was a pre-dreadnaught class battleship and was commissioned in 1904. During WWI she saw action against the Russian Navy and served as a training ship later in the war. She was one of the few ships allowed the German Fleet after the end of WWI and was broken up for scrap in 1935. The ribbon ends have been trimmed, normal age and wear.
