Sold for: $295.00
Original period manufacture. A scarce, Reichswehr era produced, S84/98 bayonet made by Weyersberg & Kirschbaum (W.u.K.), with a 27 stamped on the blade spine indicating manufacture in 1927. The scabbard and guard display Reichsmarine property stamps for the Baltic Sea (Ostsee) Fleet but do not match one another. Satin blue finish to the blade with a slightly bent tip, wood grips with a crack on the reverse side, throat screw intact with light pitting to the pommel area. The Reichsmarine was the post-WWI name for the German Navy and due to the restrictions imposed upon Germany by the Treaty of Versailles, the size of the Navy was limited to only 15,000 men.
