Original era manufacture. An unusual example of an early production buckle of high quality nickel alloy, marked in raised lettering on the reverse. RZM 78 PuC. Typically the RZM marking was reserved for political insignia, it is thought that in the early years of the RZM adoption, makers were not sure as to the regulations, so the marking was applied to items which did not require them, as in this instance. Nice buckle.
