German WWI 1st Class Iron Cross, Named Reverse

Original era manufacture. Magnetic center EK1 with a slightly vaulted form to it. Most of the original finish remains on the core, with a pleasing silver patina to the frame and ribbing. Crudely incised on the reverse is the following; GEFR-1./415, I, AB. There is a matching patina finish to the inside of the engraving and to the surface of the medal.  There was an IR 415, attached to the 204th ID during the war. Raised in 1916, using a mix of Wurttemberg and Saxon units. The 415th was transferred in 212th division in late 1916, which saw service in Rumania to the end of the war.
