Original era manufacture. Wonderfully decorated German 75cm shell casing which is dated 1915 on its base. It is 5 inches in height, 128mm, with the sides being beautifully incised with people, camels, fish and birds, including the figure of a man carrying two Christian crosses. At center is a small shield displaying DAMASCUS 1919. Damascus was the Syriancity entered by Lawrence of Arabia in 1918. Deep brass patina finish, very nicely done.
