Original era manufacture. Bright finished blade with an unsharpened edge and a sharp point. The blade shows a salt & pepper finish from old cleaned corrosion with the tip being slightly tweaked. Maker marked on the ricasso Erfurt and on the other GEBR HELLER, Marienthal. Rough texture finish to the guard and pommel from old cleaned corrosion. The flash guard shows some denting and the wood grips are marred a bit from service use. The blue steel scabbard shows a dark steel patina mixed with blue with some light scattered denting from service use. There is a tiny 2x2mm hole in the rear of the scabbard perhaps caused by shrapnel.
