Original era manufacture. Long bladed, quill back bayonet made by Simson & Co, Suhl, with a 03 acceptance date on the spine. Unit marked on the guard 100.R.3.38 (100th Saxon Reserve Infantry Regiment, 3rd Company, 38th Weapon). Sound grips without cracks or chips, just typical dings and dents from service use. The blade is clean with some scattered spotting and graying and light surface corrosion. Dark steel patina to the pommel. No scabbard.
