Original era manufacture. Standard pattern Butcher bayonet, but displaying an unusual makers name of Ferdinand Esser & Co. Issue markings on the spine are faint, the blade surface is clean and bright. Dark steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, and made without a flash guard on the top of the grip.Near dent-free blue steel finish scabbard, with a shallow dent near the tip on the obverse of the body. Evidence of light surface pitting, mixed with blue, typical condition that we find these bayonets in anymore.
