Original era manufacture. Issue feldgrau wool tunic, M1915 pattern. Minimal moth issues with the body, the collar is the same color as the tunic body. Full, coarse gray cotton lining with faint size markings in the back center, and a more vibrant unit marking below.Rimless crown buttons in olive paint throughout, with matching color side belt support ramps, and two rimless crown support buttons in the back. On the front of the tunic are six matching color and material securing buttons, which may be of a gray color horn. Both collar hooks and eyes are present. The tops of the cuffs may have been trimmed in the past, perhaps from moth damage. At present the measure 3 inches in height, with a machined stitch line at the top. The body and collar exhibit a few small, stitched over moth repairs, these are certainly not detracting. They just illustrate that someone in the past tried to help this old tunic cosmetically, nothing done with the intention to deceive. The unit marking in the liner is perhaps another matter. It is more vibrant than the size markings, but that is reasonable, as it may have been property marked at the unit level. However, the aspect that gives pause, is the Minenwerfer unit that it is marked to, that may be an attempt to gild the lilly, or, perhaps just me being over cautious in my old age. One final comment, in the last photo in our listing, the lining is shown, the blue areas are not stains, it is just the way the lighting reacted to the folds in the cloth. In hand the color is even throughout. Size about a 40 regular.
