Original era manufacture. A well used Bavarian officers feldgrau service cap with a camouflage cloth strip handsewn over the red cap band. This matches in age and wear with the rest of the hat and has no doubt been in place since 1918.The body of the hat displays  considerable moth damage, most of which occurs on the top and rear of the hat, it displays quite well from the front. The brown leather sweatband is pliable and securely sewn to the body of the hat, with an orange silk liner displaying honest wear.Pliable patent leather visor with a matching adjustable chinstrap.
