Original era manufacture. Typical WWI German issue canteen with a gray wool cover, and brown leather straps. It is complete with its cork and metal stopper with metal snap hook.Roughly stitched to the wool cover is a large mailing label, bearing the following information; Thomas Cecil, C.A.C. APO 784, to, Mrs Betty Cecil of Knoxville Tennessee, with a postage stamp in the upper right corner.The canteen is complete, displaying typical age and wear, with the leather neck strap broken where it meets the buckle. This can be repaired easily enough for display. Excellent research potential.
