Original era manufacture. A magnetic core Iron Cross 1st Class, with a wonderful toned patina finish to the frame and ribbing, silver content marked 950 on the reverse.The case is an early WWI pattern,  with a purple velvet pad, and a white silk lined lid. The exterior of the case displays an imitation leather dark colored covering with a tiny EK1 on its lid. The edges show light scuffing from handling over the last 100 years, the closure lock and button work properly.
