Original period manufacture. White piped feldgrau strap with a red wool crown and RW intertwined letter cypher with a Roman numeral I at bottom. The reverse of the strap displays wartime expediency being made of two separate pieces of feldgrau wool. During WWI, 2nd Saxon Grenadier Regiment Nr.101 served with the 23rd Infantry Division (Saxon). They saw combat against the US 37th (Buckeye) Division in Belgium November 9th-11th 1918.
