Original era manufacture. Polished steel blade measuring 24.5 inches in length, with faint etching on both sides of the blade, rounded point, with the Kirschbaum trademark on the obverse ricasso. Red wool felt bumper in place, ornate gilded brass guard with a crown over a fouled anchor, imitation ivory grip bound with double strand wire. Brass mounted black leather scabbard which has been creased but not broken. The blade fits fairly well with a 1/4 inch gap between the bottom of the guard and top of the throat.
