Original era manufacture. I really can't say too much about this poor old sword, other than some individual, or country, in the past thought it was a good idea to chrome plate the scabbard and guard. The blade is clean, has a 1903 acceptance date on the spine, with a unit marked guard, 19.R.A.8.57 (which should stand for Thuringia Field Artillery Regiment 19, 8th Battery, weapon 57). Black leather covered grip, with a post production black paint finish. Maybe, this sword was chromed for parade use by a South American country. Chile is famous for retaining the pomp and splendor of the Kaiser era, with their impressive displays of parades and pageantry, all while wearing spiked helmets and waffenrocks. Look on youtube for examples of their precision., Chilean Army Parade, they do the Kaiser proud.
