Original era manufacture. Chromed steel blade measuring 31.5 inches in length, running straight and true, no corrosion issues or nicks in the blade edge, just some light surface staining from I believe oil. Marked on the top of the spin DOV, which I believe stands for Deutsche Offizier Verein, no other markings on the ricasso. Cast brass guard and pommel, the side folds up for wear. Carved into the top of the knuckle-bow are nine shallow notches, no idea as to their intention, but something to ponder at any rate. there is a small ragged edge on the opposite side of the guard, measuring about 20 mm in length, battle damage? The leather finger loop is missing. Black plastic covered wooden grip which is bound with triple strand wire; with an Imperial cypher on the side of the grip. Black painted steel scabbard, both throat screws are present, and the surface is dent-free.
