Original period manufacture. According to Carter this is and its cousin EB-3 are two of the more common Ersatz bayonets to be encountered, This example differs from EB-3 in that it has a one piece muzzle ring instead of EB-3's two piece. 12,5inch blade with a crown proof on its spine. The blade shows scattered peppering but no deep pitting, tip is slightly blunted. Even steel patina to the guard and sheet metal grip. The sheet metal scabbard shows some scattered service denting with traces of original feldgrau paint remaining. It has an interesting old tag attached to the grip which reads "German Bannerman's #23".
