Original period manufacture. Feldgrau painted steel grip as illustrated on page 105 ofVol. III of German Bayonets by Carter. This EB43 displays thedifferent lengthfullers on each side of the blade and is described as the most crudely produced of the three similar patterns illustrated. Polished steel blade in good repair with a crown proof on its spine. Both the ribbed steel grip and scabbard display a fair amount of original feldgrau paint finish. The scabbard has some surface denting and the ball tip is missing.
