Original period manufacture. Feldgrau painted steel grip as illustrated on page 107, Vol.III of German Bayonets by Carter. This EB-44 displays the shortest fullers of the three similar patterns. Polished steel blade in good repair with a crown proof on the spine. Normally this bayonet will be seen fitted with a type 3 sheet steel scabbard with a feldgrau paint finish. Our example comes with a standard 98/05 bayonet scabbard which doesits job quite well, few dents in its surface on the front side. Nice German marked black harness leather frog was on the bayonet at the time of our purchase.
