Original period manufacture. All steel construction Ersatz bayonet illustrated on page 109, Volume III of German Bayonets by Carter. Two varieties are shown, one with an intact partial muzzle ring as this example and one with the ring removed. Commercial quality polished steel blade with two crown proofs on the spine. Type 1 sheet steel scabbard with a post production black painted finish. The scabbard is split on both sides near the throat, clean otherwise.
