Original period manufacture. Heavy cast steel grip made in two sections with 9 diagonal cuts on each side. Partial muzzle ring, three distinct, flush-ground, rivet heads visible on each side. The blade has been shortened to 9.5 inches (240 mm), is clean, with a crown proof on it'sspine. Rather battered steel scabbard with an oval frog stud.
