Original period manufacture. All steel construction Ersatz bayonet reportedly produced by the Altona Artillery Depot on the river Elbe. Carter discusses this bayonet in Volume 3, page 121 of German Bayonets where he lists this pattern as scarce. Great looking steel grip with a partial muzzle ring and an even steel patina overall. Full length blade with what looks to be a type 4 scabbard. Normal age and wear.
