Item #69876 : Original period manufacture. White wool piped feldgrau shoulder strap with red chain stitched numbers, removed from a uniform. During WWI, IR 170 served with the 29th Division until 1915, then transferred to the 52nd Division (rated by the Allies as one of the best German divisions) where it served until the Armistice. It opposed the US 1st Infantry division A.E.F. during the Meuse-Argonne offensive.
