Original period manufacture. White piped feldgrau shoulder strap with red chain-stitched numbers, 457. During WWI IR 457 saw service with the 236th Infantry Division. The following divisions of the A.E.F. report contact with the 236th division; Big Red One 1st Infantry, November 5th 1918, Indian Head 2nd Infantry, November 1st 1918, Rock of the Marne 3rd Infantry, Meuse-Argonne mentions particularly IR 457, Orion Division 27th Infantry August 1918, Old Hickory 30th Infantry August 1918, Buckeye Division 37th Infantry Meuse-Argonne 9/26-10/06 1918, Blue Ridge Division 80th Infantry October 4 1918 and again on 1 November 1918.
