German WWI Fernglas 08, Binoculars and Ersatz Case

Original period manufacture. Standard WWI German field glasses adopted in 1908. Feldgrau painted frame with individual focus eyepieces, some wear to the painted surfaces. Optics are clear and the eyepieces operate properly. There is some minor chipping in the edge of the right side eyepiece. The case is made of a ribbed fibreboard with a leather hinge and securing straps. The right side securing strap is broken butnone of the leather is missing. On the bottom of the case is a semi-circular crack where something pushed up against it at some point in time. Sound old set of binoculars, leather belt straps are intact.
