Original period manufacture. A very clean example of a typical wooden handled German WWI fighting knife. What sets this particular example apart is that this one was made by the firm of DEMAG, makers of the famous "crank handle" fighting knife-bayonet. It shares with the crank-handle pattern the same style stamped steel guard with the curved barrel rest on one side. The blade is very clean, near new with lots of original cross grain polish visible, and a crown proof on the blade ricasso. Sound original finish, ribbed wood grips with no cracks or chips. Standard black painted steel scabbard with nearly all of its original finish remaining intact. Pliable and sound leather belt loop with pommel strap.
