Original period manufacture.A very clean example of a typical wooden handled German WWI fighting knife. What sets this particular example apart is that this one was made by the firm of DEMAG, makers of the famous "crank handle" fighting knife-bayonet.It shares with the crank-handle pattern the same style stamped steel guard with the curved barrel rest on one side. The blade isclean, with intelligent sharpening on the edge, with a crown proof on one side of the ricasso, the DEMAG logo on the other.Sound original finish, ribbed wood grips with no cracks or chips. Standard black painted steel scabbard with a mix of paint and patina finish.
