Original era manufacture. Coffin shaped ribbed wooden handle with a simple oval steel guard. Maker marked on the obverse ricasso Gottlieb Hammesfahr, and crown proofed on the reverse. The blade has been lightly sharpened with some age spotting and staining. Black painted steel scabbard with a brown leather belt & pommel strap. The initials HDS have been scratched into the scabbard body.
