Original era manufacture. Original era manufacture. Light gray wool insignia with red wool soutache number 212. Worn on the left sleeve by members of Flieger  Abteilung 2112, a German Air Service Artillery Observation squadron. Mothing as shown. Stitched to an old 3x5 card which incorrectly identifies the insignia as an Infantry shoulder strap.
