Original era manufacture. Light gray wool insignia with red wool soutache number 41. Worn on the left sleeve by members of Feldflieger Abteilung 41, a WWI German Air Service recon squadron. Mothing as shown. Stitched to an old 3x5 card which incorrectly identifies the insignia as an Infantry shoulder strap.
