Original period manufacture. A very fine, officersquality M1910 tunic of lightweight feldgrau wool, piped in light blue at the base of the collar, cuffs and shoulder strap underlay, with red piping on the tails and tunic front. The tunic is very clean, displaying minimal mothing, and no staining. The only moth bite of any consequence occurs on the reverse of the collar, dead center, measuring about 4 mm in width. There are a few other, very small bites, and a few spots where the nap has been nibbled on, but overall the tunic is quite clean for its 100 year age. Full original lining, with a nice tailors label on the interior of the pocket, which is named to the officer and dated inAugust of 1914.Full complement of original sewn buttons and shoulder straps, with an Iron Cross ribbonslipped through the handsewn loops on the upper portion of the tunic. This ribbon bar was in place at the time of our purchase about five years ago. 1st Rhenish Train Battalion Number 8, VIII Army Corps, Coblenz.
