Original era manufacture. A magnetic core Iron Cross 1st Class, with a wonderful toned patina finish to the frame and ribbing, maker marked KO on the attaching pin, with surface bubbling to the finish of the iron core.The case is a WWI pattern with a purple velvet pad, and a white silk lined lid. The exterior of the case displays an imitation leather, maroon colored covering with a tiny EK1 on its lid. The closure lock and button work properly, slight side to side movement of the case lid when closed.
