Original era manufacture. A standard WWI era magnetic core EK2, with a nice core finish and a pleasing silver patina finish to the frame, unmarked suspension ring.Nice length of original EK ribbon, which has four brass campaign clasps slipped over the fabric; Flandern u. Artois, Verdun, Somme-Schlact, Arras-Albert. This is exactly the way we purchased it from KP's shop in Ludwigshafen many years ago.Perhaps the original owner was inspired by the Franco-Prussian practice of mounting campaign or battle clasps on the ribbon of the 1870-71 campaign medal, or done later by a previous collector-owner. We'll never know for certain, but I liked it the moment I saw it.From our own collection.
