Original era manufavtur. Feldgrau wool with red wool piping and band, with an original adjustable cloth camouflage cap band.The white heavy cotton lining displays a clear 1915 date, Army Corps markings and a regimental marking of IR 145. The lining shows wear from use, and a three inch section of the seam has opened up on one side.the top of the hat displays a 5 x 10 mm moth hole, with another moth bite on the rear of the hat measuring roughly 3 x 3 mm, and a third on the left front quarter just above the band, being about 3 x 3 mm.The adjustable camouflage band is secured in front by a Prussian color cockade, with the national cockade above. The Prussian one is broken on one side but still securely attached. Staining from age and use, but overall very sound and a classic example of WWI headgear.
