Originalperiod manufacture. This is a well used old soldier but regardless of its condition issues it remains an original example of WWI feldgrau uniforming. The exterior of the coat shows numerous moth bites and open sections of stitching and general wear and tear of service use. The two metal collar hooks remain but all other buttons and metal fittings have been removed. The interior gray cotton lining also shows heavy use and wear, but the XIXth Army Corps (Saxony) issue marks are quite clearand at least provide some clue as to its service life during WWI. We have a small bag with a few overcoat pattern buttons, large & small, which we will include to start you off on your restoration. If you are budget minded, looking to set up a WWI German soldier displayand don't wish to spend the $4000-$5000 for original trousers & tunic (if you can find them that all) this old guy is a bargain. Helmet not included.
