Original era manufacture. A beautiful example of a KS98 bayonet, with sawback edge, WKC mfg. Most of the black satin finish remains on the guard, pommel and scabbard, with very nice checkered grips.The blade is quite clean, just a tiny amount of age freckling on the surface, zero corrosion and no evidence of post production sharpening. Very nice condition brown leather frog. Attached to the frog stud is an original tag, placed there by the GI who brought it home in 1945. It reads as follows, "Bayonet from the home of officer-Stuttgard. Sergeant Lendol D. Snow, Communications Sergeant, in 6 campaigns overseas 40 months-Ireland, England, Africa, Italy, Corsica, France & Germany. From our own collection.
