Original period manufacture. A very sound example in brown leather which was later dyed black for service use. Brasssquare loop on the reverse with side mounting points. Metal partions inside for three clips of five rounds each.Very clear makers markings on the reverse,Hans Romer 1915, Neu-Ulm. According to the Militaria Verlag published book, The German Army In the First World War by Kraus, this pattern pouch was used by pioneers, foot artillery, ammunition columns and train formations.
