Original era manufacture. One of the more scarce examples of the WWI German enlisted service buckles, even more unusual would be one in steel.Brass bodied buckle with a silver alloy star displaying the coat of arms of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Rather a rose colored patina to the obverse, with a gilded brass patina on the reverse. Bright silver soldier points, note the similar bright silver soldier points on the steel buckle above.A sound buckle with a nice patina "bloom" from around the edges of the star.
