Original era manufacture. Standard model M1915 Infantry pattern pickelhaube with removable spike. The helmet body is quite sound, stitching is tight with no cracks or tears in the leather. There is a spot of missing finish on the right rear portion of the crown and the leather liner has been removed. Faint size mark of 58 stamped into the crown and a unit marking which looks like PB30 appears on the inside of the rear visor. At the time of our purchase this helmet was fitted with a Baden pattern wappen, it fits properly, no extra holes needed. It may be a marriage of convenience, as our initial research showed no 30th Baden pioneer battalion. A Prussian pattern eagle would be proper.
