Original era manufacture. This is a basic, garden variety M1915 Prussian Infantry helmet, which has been transformed into an example of the rare and mysterious helmet as worn by soldiers of IR 92, Brunswick regiment.The helmet is without a liner, gray painted steel fittings, a good quality replacement chinstrap, an original finish national cockade, and an overpainted Brunswickian example on the other side; the visors have been restitched, and last but certainly not least, a lead skull, instead of an original hollow stamped example, with Peninsula bandeau has been attached to the Prussian wappen.This is certainly a poor man's (collector) version of this scarce helmet, and looks quite decent for display.
